Playing for the Angels

The Ashland Food Angels is having a musical fundraiser called "Playing for the Angels - an evening of Music, Mime and Merriment" on Friday evening, June 10, from 7 to 10 pm in the Rogue River Room, Stevenson Union, at SOU. Entry is by donation with suggested donation from $5 to $25. Music will be provided by Richard Williams, David Gabriel, Laura Derocher, Aletha Nowitzky, and Purple Cabbage, with room for dancing. The evening will open with a bit of mime by the Ashland Mime Troupe, and a silent auction of art objects is also part of the evening. The proceeds go to supporting the Food Angels efforts to gather and distribute food to those in need in the Rogue Valley. This project, now in its 17th year, operates every day of the year and reaches over 2000 people weekly. Run entirely by volunteer efforts, the Food Angels rely on donations and fundraisers to be able to continue giving food to food banks, school groups, seniors, community meals and others.
