Please join the R.E.D. women's community and attend our "before the Social" crafting circle! Bring whatever you'd like to work on, or just come and join in with crafting materials we'll have there. We look forward to meeting like this before each Social to craft and talk about how the women can help one another in strengthening the R.E.D. community, keeping our families and ourselves healthy, and giving each other support where needed.

R.E.D. is hosting a Women's Circle, prior to the R.E.D. Social that same day/evening. We intend to talk about the direction and intention in forming a Women's Circle, what we can do to support each other, ourselves and our community, how we can work with Red Earth Descendants to create a strong, united group of women! Since this is scheduled to begin an hour before the Social, we need to start on time (please arrive by 3:45 p.m. so we can begin promptly at 4) and end on time to greet the Social arrivals.

It's almost a New Year and we're back to our monthly R.E.D. Socials!

Please join us for our almost monthly Social--with Whistling Elk Drum and the R.E.D. community. Find out what's new around our local inter-tribal Red Earth Descendants community, listen to songs, bring a potluck dish to share if you can and just enjoy a simple meal and get-together with us!

Longhouse grand opening and powwow at LCC main campus Dec. 3-4

LONGHOUSE SCHEDULE

Red Earth Descendants will hold monthly LongHouse at the Ole Siskiyou Barn

LongHouse Starts @ 9:45am and follows with a potluck, please bring a dish. LongHouse attire is traditionally skirts/dress and a shawl for women and long sleeve shirt/pants and vest for men; this is a suggestion only. Traditional Buckskins are also appropriate.

Roy Hayes Jr/ Loo'ting coom coom seen is a member of the Nimi'ipuu People (Nez Pierce) out of Lapwai,Idaho .Having grown up with the Wasit (7 Drum ) Tradition of the LongHouse, he is the one of the Keepers of this NorthWest Coast prayer ceremony. He is the great great grandson of the well known Leader/Teacher Chief Joseph, spending much of his childhood with his Grandparents as a fisherman earning him the name the “Blue Heron/the Fisherman” (Loo'ting coom coom seen).
